The differences between PVC, rubber, and TPU layflat hoses

The primary differences among PVC, rubber, and TPU layflat hoses lie in their material characteristics, performance, and application scenarios:


Material characteristics
PVC (polyvinyl chloride): It belongs to the plastic material category, with strong weather resistance and corrosion resistance, but it is prone to hardening or brittleness at low temperatures.  ‌


Rubber: covers natural/synthetic rubber, with high elasticity and wear resistance, but complex processing and high cost.  ‌



TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer): combines rubber elasticity and plastic processability, is wear-resistant, oil resistant, and environmentally friendly, suitable for high-strength demand scenarios.  ‌


Performance Comparison
Temperature resistance: TPU has a wider temperature range (-40 ℃ to 120 ℃), while PVC has relatively poor temperature resistance (generally ≤ 60 ℃).  ‌
Elastic recovery: TPU has better elastic recovery ability than PVC and rubber, and is not easily deformed after long-term use.  ‌
